The Benção Brasil Cultural Center, home of Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles, is a community space that offers a variety of youth and adult classes in Capoeira – a creative martial art form developed in Brazil by African slaves. With a focus on bridging cultural divides and cultivating healthy lifestyles through the arts, Benção Brasil also hosts art, fitness, dance and music events and workshops as well as free community programing. Above all, Benção Brasil inspires mindful living through movement, music and art. Our space is dedicated to inspiring creativity in a welcoming, diverse environment and promoting community engagement in the arts and fitness.

According to the Department of Health & Human Services, only one in three children are physically active every day and less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day. More than 80% of adults do not meet the guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities, and more than 80% of adolescents do not do enough aerobic physical activity to meet the guidelines for youth.

The Benção Brasil community is a great place for families to get fit in a diverse and healthy environment. The relationships developed and lessons learned in our community last a lifetime.
